Before starting her own business, Gwen worked for an engineering firm and an architectural firm. During this time, she was mentored by several architects and engineers who were all working for themselves. Starting her own firm seemed the best way to have time for her family and stay in the workforce. Business grew year after year, as did her reputation within the community and with industry partners. Eventually, it just made sense to continue to expand from her home to a business office.
For Gwen and the team, the best part of the job is the opportunity to solve difficult design and engineering issues. In fact, value engineering is one of the most valuable aspects of the engineering services offered to clients. As our engineers design a project, we identify ways to save the client money during the construction phase, collaborating with the contractor, architect, and client along the way to balance style and cost.
Because projects can span from 3-4 months to several years, our ownership, responsibility, and professionalism is reflected in our work. Seeing a project through from concept to completion is enormously rewarding and feels as if we provide unique services to our clients.
